Brett Bender is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, where he received his BS in Computer Science. His strengths include software engineering and server-side development. Brett spends much of his time at Bearded working with the open source web development framework Ruby on Rails, which provides a toolkit that helps developers avoid the most time-consuming and repetitive elements of creating websites and applications. Brett is keenly focused on writing and refining clean, efficient, performant code – the end goal of which is always to support exceptional user experience.

Brett enjoys a relatively spartan lifestyle with regard to physical possessions, noting that you don't need that many things when you "live on the Internet."
