Pittsburgh Glass Center is a school, gallery, and state-of-the-art glass studio located in the East Liberty neighborhood of Pittsburgh. They are one of the top glass-making facilities in the United States, host world-renowned glass artists, and help everyone from first-timers to experienced glass artists hone their craft.

Bearded created a new responsive, CMS-driven website for the Pittsburgh Glass Center. The new site has loads of functionality, incorporating many features that were previously handled by costly third-party systems. The PGC website now handles membership management, accepts donations, hosts a custom events and classes calendar, allows event and class registrations, facility rentals and scheduling, payment processing, POS checkout, and contact management.

Users of the site can be assigned a number of roles, all with their own special permissions for the site. Members get discounts on certain purchases on the site, Approved users can request facility rentals, and Staff can see special internal events and classes on the calendar. Even regular users will receive a special prompt at checkout if a new membership would save them money on their purchase.

The site's fluid, responsive design makes sure that users will have the optimal experience no matter what device or screen size they use. Smart phone users will feel just as attended to by the site's user interface as those on a large-screen HDTV, and the fluid approach to layout will make sure the site is friendly to the devices and users of the future, as well.
